My current work is a result of my frequent traveling between South Korea and the United States. I try to imagine how a uniquely Korean-American experience can be embedded into a material, and how these materials ultimately suggest a story. I attempt to speak about the Korean-American diaspora based on personal experiences by using translated text, photos, and materials unique to Korea. I see my work not as solutions to questions about identity, but rather as opportunities to begin a conversation about where the Korean diaspora is headed.
